What would the Y be without water?
Water exercise, adult swim lessons (it’s NEVER too late) and adapted exercise for those with disabilities or in rehabilitation are some of the water-based activities you’ll find at the Y where we believe if you can do it on land, you can do some version of it in the water!
Deep Water Fitness
A moderate to high intensity workout taught in the deep end of the pool. This is the only true “no impact” exercise class. Participants exercise while suspended in a flotation belt. This is a great class for core strengthening and cardio-respiratory conditioning.
Activate your aqua urge for variety! Joint Freedom offers LOTS of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.
Tabata is a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) that is sure to keep your heart rate up and burn calories with little impact on your joints.
